Professional Qualifications:

Formally, I am The Reverend Dr. Lyn AliceAnn Saunders, but I usually go by Lyn or Rev. Lyn AliceAnn. I am an ordained priest in The Circle of Divine Light, a non-sectarian, non-denominational church. I have a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology, as well as a doctorial clinical certificate from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, California. I have a Masters in Counseling from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, and a Masters in Transpersonal Studies from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, California. I have trained extensively in hospice in Oregon and California, led bereavement groups, and facilitated families during critical loss. I have extensive training in many different types of psychology and interpersonal work and have led workshops in a wide range of subjects, including disabilities, diverse populations, special children, and women’s spiritual development.

I came to Spiritual Counseling and Life Coaching because of my life-long interest in spirituality and Consciousness Studies. Even as a child I was drawn to the various aspects of the Divine and the variety of states of consciousness associated with that inward path. After ten years of Zen monastic training, I came to realize that no matter what one was, the most important result in life is total acceptance of who and what you are. In midlife I studied everything from Celtic spirituality to Christian mysticism and found great joy in reading and writing about transformative experiences. In my professional life in Transpersonal psychology and related approaches, I have always sought to enhance an individual’s goals by bringing to their attention the possibilities and richness of learning to live from one’s inner awareness. And now, working in the mystical tradition within my ministry, I have an opportunity to help others find their own inward path to the Divine. It has always been my feeling that once we know who we are and what we want from the inside, it becomes increasingly easy to manifest that dream or goal on the outside. This emphasis on inner attunement, self development, and path to self-awareness is the aim of my Spiritual Counseling as well as my Integrative Coaching work and my wish for each of you.

Spiritual Qualifications:

I have worked with the United Nations peace affiliate organization Pathways to Peace codirecting two interfaith peace vigils at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, California. I lived in a Zen Buddhist monastic community for 10 years and have studied Buddhist Psychology throughout my professional career. I am conversant with Celtic Spirituality and Christian Mysticism, and have taken spiritual workshop trainings and retreats with such teachers as Robert Aitken-roshi, Zentatsu Baker-roshi, Dainin Katagiri-roshi, Thich Nhat Hanh, Brother David Steindl-Rast, Mother Tessa Bolecki, Father Thomas Keating, and Philip Carr-Gomm. I have done workshops with Dr. Bernie Siegel in Bereavement and Cancer Survival, John Cabot Zinn in Full Catastrophic Living, and Angeles Arrien in Shamanic Soul Healing.

I have a Doctorate as well as a Masters in Transpersonal (Psycho-spiritual) Studies from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology and have studied with such notable Transpersonalists as Arthur Giacalone in Contemplative Psychotherapies, Hillivi Ruumet in Psychospiritual development and Spiritual Emergency, and Ann Gila and John Ferman in Psychosynthesis . I have Continuing Ed training with such notable individuals as Joan Borysenko, Jean Houston, Frances Vaughan, Roger Walsh and Angelus Arrien.
 

Hypnosis and Regression Qualifications:

I am certified in Advanced Intuitive Regression from the International Association of Regression, Research and Therapy in Riverside, California. I have held membership in the Northern California Society of Clinical Hypnosis, the American Psychological Association, and the Association of Transpersonal Psychology. My initial 50-hour certificate in Past-Life Regression Training was earned under Henry Leo Bolduc and Dr. Henry Reed in 1999. I have received extended training in regression techniques at the Association for Research and Enlightenment in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and have completed advanced trainings in regression with such notable leaders in the field as Dr. Brian Weiss, Hans TenDam, Mariam Boone, and Dr. Janet Cunningham.
